Hello & Welcome back Students and Parents.
My name is Ms. Curtis. This website will be a helpful resource throughout the year for both Algebra 1 students and Geometry students. There will be access to blank copies of the notes as well as filled in notes, study guides, homework and answer keys for students that are absent or may need another copy if they miss place theirs. This main home page will have updates at least a week in advance before any big unit tests and any other information as needed. Please feel free to explore the website and contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you. Hello All,
We are getting closer and closer to the end. As things begin to winding down I want to send out a few friendly reminders. First, remember to return your book before the end of school year. Second, if you have any tests or quizzes that you need to retake those need to be scheduled with Ms. Curtis, once school has ended the chance for retakes is done! Lastly, remember that even though we are almost done with the school year to stay on track with your work and finish strong. As for things to expect, we will have a test on Thursday, June 1st over Chapter 9 Objectives. Exam days are June 7th-9th, these days are all half days. On Wednesday June 7th there will be exams 1 and 2. On Thursday June 8th there will be exams 3 and 4. On Friday June 9th there will be exams 5 and 6. We will be having two quizzes and a test covering Chapter 8 Objectives 1-5. The first quiz will focus on graphing and the ability to interpret graphs. This quiz will be on Thursday, May 11th. The second quiz will focus on graphing quadratic functions and the ability to interpret quadratic equations without graphing them. This quiz will be on Friday, May 19th. Please remember that the review packet must be completed before you are able to take the test. The review packets will be due on Monday, May 22nd. Therefore our Chapter 8 test will be on Tuesday, May 23rd. Also keep in mind as we get closer to the end of the school year to continue to check grades and take care of any tests/quizzes that you need to retake, once the school year is done you cannot do retakes!
We will be completing the rest of Chapter 7 over the next few weeks. We will have a quiz on Monday April 24th covering objectives 9-10. Students Review Packets will be due on Friday April 28th. Remember until review packets are completed students will not be able to take the test, the need to be prepared and completing this packet is an indicating that they are ready for the test. We will plan on taking the test on Tuesday, May 2nd as long as all goes as planned. If there are any changes I will be sure to post them as soon as possible.
We will be testing on Objectives 1-7 on Thursday April 13th. Due to PSAT and SAT testing all this week we will be having two days of reviews. On Monday April 10th students Review Packets are due, they received their Review Packets on Monday April 3rd. Therefore having an entire week to complete there should be no reason that they have not completed these. We will not be having any mini quizzes rather there were be lots of practice problems we work through together in class that I will use to assess students and their readiness to test on Objectives 1-7.
We are now moving into exponents and geometric sequences. We will be covering Chapter 6 objectives 1-7. On Friday, February 24th we will be having a mini quiz covering just the rules of exponents, how to use them and apply them. On Friday, March 3rd we will be having another quiz and currently the plan is for this to be a partner quiz.
Students will receive the review packet for Chapter 6 on Tuesday, February 21st and these will be due the day before the test on Wednesday, March 8th. We will be planning to take our Unit Test over Chapter 6 Objectives 1-7 on Thursday March 9th. Please keep in mind that you will not be able to take your test unless you have completed your Review Packet. The Review Packet is there to help you prepare, practice and study for your test! |
